We will support account creation and load the following:

• Pen Name
• Book and Subtitles
• Series Detail
• Supplemental Materials

• Author, Publisher & Narrator Details
• Metadata & Keywords 
• Reader Levels
• ISBN, Publishing  & Copywrite Details
• Pre-recorded audiobook titles and sections in correct order
• Retail sample

Mastering is done after editing and proofing. We start with your good recording and get it to be ready for production. Mastering consists of four major steps:

• Noise Reduction – This step removes the background noise from your audio file. Please note there are limitation to this so please be sure you record in a studio.
• Compression – This process reduces the dynamic range of the audio recording so that the loud parts are quieter, and the quiet parts are louder.
• Normalization – This phase limits the loudness of the recording.
• RMS & Peak Values – This segment checks that the average and maximum are within Findaway Voices requirements.

 This stage is important and may be your last chance to make changes to the audio files. 

It is sometimes called Quality Control and is the process of listening to the audiobook critically by using high quality headphones and listen for:

• Repeated phrases (outtakes) that should have been deleted
• Proper use of narration skills such as word emphasis or pauses
• Consistent accents and pronunciations
• Unwanted sounds that were missed during editing
• Quiet gaps caused by editing that need to be filled in with room tone

The Retails Sample is what you hear before deciding to purchase an audiobook and has certain requirements that must be followed to be accepted. We will:

•  Capture an appropriate audio from your audiobook
• Restructure it to fit the audio sample requirements
• Forward for your use or add to your Findaway Voices Account if we have been contracted to Set Up and Load to the account

If you have made the creative decision to record your own audiobook, there are important key steps to follow to ensure your audiobook gets to publication without any major issues. We will:

• Review preliminary details for your studio visit
• Review technical requirements
• Provide detailed sheet to present to your studio technical team
• Review rules and stipulations for recording

These are very important steps to save you both time and money.
